The Exmouth ARMS
A successful popular Cheltenham pub looking to redecorate and zone areas with change of colour palette and wallpapers unique materials and finishes.
The Brief
The client's and designer's brief was to transform the existing bar front and back bar that were in gloomy dark mahogany wood. This pub's tired decor drastically impacted on the interior's appeal.
The designer chose a calming grey palette with unique wallpapers while other zones were picked out in accent colours.
The bar front which took a lot of punishment from the clientele so it was suggested that a distressed look using two Farrow & Ball colours would retain a classic look but with a much brighter feel. Our solution also came with a long term practically because future wear and tear would be disguised through the styling.
The process
All woodwork was sprayed with water based eggshell except for the bar front which was sprayed with Farrow & Ball emulsion which was used to achieve the distressed look.
Once the paint effect had been completed a protective varnish was applied to give the finish extra lifespan.
Airless and HVLP paint spraying machines were used throughout. Cutting edge equipment to give THE best finish possible.
Walls and ceilings were roller painted. A inventive yet cost effective feature wall was created using with scaffold planks and then treated with tinted oil to give a washed out look.
Finally we paperer several feature walls for the final finish.
